A new Post Office counter inside Morrisons Daily on Icarus Avenue, Croft Park, opens 7am to 10pm every day, more than twice the hours of the Church Walk branch.
Burgess Hill has a new Post Office. It is inside the Morrisons Daily at 112 Icarus Avenue, Croft Park, and it keeps the shop’s hours: 7am to 10pm, seven days a week.
The Post Office announced the branch in an information letter to customers. It gave the opening as 1pm on Monday 2 November. The letter said that if the date changed, posters in the store would say so. The branch will be known as Croft Park Post Office, according to its consultation page.
It is a new branch, not a replacement for one that has closed. All three existing Burgess Hill branches stay open.
What it offers
The Post Office calls it a “local style” branch: an open-plan counter built into the shop’s till, not a separate screened counter. The letter lists these services:
- cash withdrawals, cash deposits and cheque deposits for everyday personal and business banking
- Drop & Go for regular parcel senders
- paying bills and topping up
- travel money cards
- Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide services
Parcelforce Express services are listed in the letter without a tick, so do not count on sending an express parcel there. The Post Office says the branch operator can tell you the maximum value of a transaction, and gives 03457 223344 for questions about services.
How the hours compare
The new counter is open 105 hours a week. That is more than any other branch in the town, and more than double the main branch on Church Walk.

The Croft Park hours come from the Post Office’s letter. The other three are as listed on the Post Office branch finder on 3 November: Church Walk opens 9.30am to 5pm on weekdays and 9.30am to 1pm on Saturdays; Worlds End opens 8am to 7pm on weekdays, 8am to 5pm on Saturdays and 9am to 5pm on Sundays; London Road opens 9am to 7pm every day.
What it means for you
If you live on the eastern side of Burgess Hill, in St Andrews ward, Croft Park is likely to be your nearest counter now. It is about a mile in a straight line from both Church Walk and Worlds End.
It is the only branch in the town that is open before 8am or after 7pm. That makes it the one to use for a parcel return or a cash deposit before or after work.
